Hi Folks ,Its been a long long time since my last post. I was keeping myself busy with household chores.I wanted to write down something for the past few weeks but I couldn't find anything to write upon. This thought process has been there in my mind from quite sometime and I felt that this is the one that goes into the next post .Here it is.
Our house's backyard has lush green grass and some not so fertile vegetable beds .I did mention the vegetable beds as not so fertile as our land is completely take over by these pesky weeds. They are thriving like anything while my poor plants are just surviving somehow. I was looking at my backyard and the wretched plants.I wanted to get rid of them for good but didn't know how. Every time I kept pulling them out , within a week there they are back again with their wicked smile.It was like sneering on me and saying " We own this land . There is nothing you can do " I kept wondering what could be the solution ? I have seen terribly beautiful backyard in homes.How do they do it ? Don't these guys grow there ? Why does it have to be my backyard ?
I met a person who shed some light on getting rid of these weeds for good .He said that I have been doing things in the wrong way so long that is why these weeds have taken dominion over my land. I was pulling off the outward seen part that is the leaves and stem while the unseen foe , the root remained untouched and undefeated all along.
Thats when I realized that my failure to address the root was the root cause of this in infestation.In order to have a lasting victory over the soil addressing the unwanted sprigs at a deeper level is essential. They must be killed at the root.
Such is the case with our spiritual lives too.We often expend a wealth of energy keeping our sin at bay so that our lives may look good.We become enervated and disheartened that we have to spend so much attention on sin that reveals itself over and over again.We begin to wonder if we have any health issues with our spiritual lawn at all.
We dont experience victory in our lives amidst these racking issues is that we do not address things at the root level. We become contented with ourselves when we have systematic success.Our adversary the Devil will have more joy while we are busy keeping sin in check neglecting the move of the Holy Spirit.
"Put to death ,therefore , whatever belongs to your earthly nature."
Colossians 3:5
Therefore apply the sin killing weedicide of Gospel to every root of sin .Let them be dead for good and never take control again.Let us aspire to see sin as a chance to deal with our roots of unbelief.We got to apply the Gospel truth every time we are tempted to sin and reclaim our heart's land back in Christ.
I am reminded of an old hymn "Lord Reign in Me " which is all about invoking the Almighty's reign and rule in our lives.The lyrics as follows
Lord reign in me
Reign in your power
Over all my dreams
In my darkest hour
You are the Lord of all I am
So won't you reign in me again

May my life reflect the beauty of my Lord

Oh Lord reign in us. Have your way and take control over our land.
