Pillar Of My Palace

Amma,

You brought me into this world,

In your hands I lay unfurled and curled,

Brought me up with your fondness

Only to kindle affection in fullness

With every step I took, from

The apparels and my look,

Your precious and timely counsel,

Made my life glow as a tinsel,

The reason behind my smiles,

I need you as I have to walk,

Many more million miles,

This piece of poetry was written when I was in college for my beloved mom. She is truly a blessing. We are best friends forever.We chat ,giggle ,gossip as we always do till date.She is a great lady of prayer.Without her I would't have known the Lord  like I do today. I would always say that no one knows the Bible like she does. She would  utter verses which I have never heard before. She has this thing called love for the people.She sowed the seed of charity and mercy for people. She taught me that we should be able to give to the poor and needy.Anything in excess is always for someone.She is a hard worker and extremely talented person. She taught me to fight on my knees for any of my needs. I wrote this poem for her birthday . She is amazing. 

Shed Those Extra Pounds

Hi Folks .I am glad to be catching up with you all in yet another new post.Looking at the title you might think ,"what is going to talk about fitness ?", "Does she even know what it is to be fit  ?" . Whatever your thoughts are my answer is a big YES. This post is all about fitness if you like it or not. Your eyes are trapped for the next few seconds. Gotcha.. :)

God always gives me topics to write on from my daily life. Mostly they are relevant. Sometimes they are totally perfect things to write on .

Fitness and I have never been at good terms since college.I am mentioning college as I used to be a sports person a school.I have won medals and trophies for ball games and athletic events.I still remember the crowd cheering up for me as used to run 100m, 200m, 400m events .Those were some golden days.I looked fit as a fiddle. Believe me Its true  :)

I was away from home when I was 15 for the first time.I was away for the next 8 - 9 years.I slowly started gaining weight with poor diet and lack of exercise and it kind of became eternal.Days passed ,I felt shamefaced.It's hard when you want to lose weight and things dont come your way. I always lacked self confidence as people would pass traumatic comments on your build. Life way back in my country was totally based on color, figure and appearance.I feel totally morose when I write this.Life is all about appearances as I have experienced it . Even when you start searching for a life partner to get married ,all we ask for is fair/handsome/beautiful/slim/tall/ etc features as add-ons . Don't we ? I always say racism starts at home .How true it is ..

How pathetic life becomes when you are obese? Cant make decisions ? Cant get a perfect partner ? Cant even breathe the air without getting broken ? I feel the same. I agree there are some free thinkers out there saying plus is equal.Thanks to those beautiful souls.

After many long years of being overweight when you decide to hit the gym for real to get fit still people will try to put out that little hope lamp burning inside you by saying it doesn't suit you dear even before you go to the gym. I have started hitting the gym on a regular basis by God's grace.It is stressful yet I am glad the results are gonna be amazing in future.I am thankful for some uplifting souls and many demoralizing people.I think I have talked enough about my not so fit story .Let me pull up applicable stuff from bible.There is this beautiful verse in Hebrews chapter 12 verses 1 -3

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Paul  talks about running the race with endurance laying aside every weight especially all the unwanted sin that is holding us back from reaching our ultimate goal.Here he talks about spiritual fitness.We have been fearfully and wonderfully made to do god's will on this earth. We got to kick off those extra  sinful pounds that are holding us from doing anything extraordinary for God.We need to look onto Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith and feel energized as He endured the cross for us. Nothing can separate us from love of Christ.

 

Rise up you weary souls .It is time to fix your eyes on Jesus and shut your  eyes and ears to every temptation.When you feel like the weight of sin is pulling you down , that is when self inspiration comes into picture. As the verse says we are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses, who are people who ran the race like us some time ago.As they lived by faith, so must we. As they failed at times, so will we. As their faith was sometimes rewarded with success, and at other times with suffering, this will likewise be our experience. As they persevered in faith, living in the present in the light of their eternal reward, so should we.Let us love each other as Christ loved us . Never be judgmental, you never know what the other person has been through.Let us take out the precious from the vile and draw closer to God.Shake off those loads of earthly weight and run towards the goal.My fitness spree has led to me explore fitness in Jesus Christ as well. I am not going to stop even if arrows of discouragement and mockery hit my ears. Gotta go on baby .

Victory Over Vile Weeds

Hi Folks ,Its been a long long time since my last post. I was keeping myself busy with household chores.I wanted to write down something for the past few weeks but I couldn't find anything to write upon. This thought process has been there in my mind from quite sometime and I felt that this is the one that goes into the next post .Here it is.

Our house's backyard has lush green grass and some not so fertile vegetable  beds .I did mention the vegetable beds as not so fertile as our land is completely take over by these pesky weeds. They are thriving like anything while my poor plants are just surviving somehow. I was looking at my backyard and the wretched plants.I wanted to get rid of them for good but didn't know how. Every time I kept pulling them out , within a week there they are back again with their wicked smile.It was like sneering on me and saying " We own this land . There is nothing you can do " I kept wondering what could be the solution ? I have seen terribly beautiful backyard in homes.How do they do it ? Don't these guys grow there ? Why does it have to be my backyard ? 

I met a person who shed some light on getting rid of these weeds for good .He said that I have been doing things in the wrong way so long that is why these weeds have taken dominion over my land. I was pulling off the  outward seen part  that is the leaves and stem while the unseen foe , the root remained untouched and undefeated all along.
Thats when I realized that my failure to address the root was the root cause of this in infestation.In order to have a lasting victory over the soil addressing the unwanted sprigs at a deeper level is essential. They must be killed at the root.
Such is the case with our spiritual lives too.We often expend a wealth of energy keeping our sin at bay so that our lives may look good.We become enervated and disheartened that we have to spend so much attention on sin that reveals itself over and over again.We begin to wonder if we have any health issues with our spiritual lawn at all.
We dont experience victory in our lives amidst these racking issues is that we do not address things at the root level. We become contented with ourselves  when we have systematic success.Our adversary the Devil will have more joy while we are busy keeping sin in check neglecting the move of the Holy Spirit.

"Put to death ,therefore , whatever belongs to your earthly nature."

Colossians 3:5

Therefore apply the sin killing weedicide of Gospel to every root of sin .Let them be dead for good and never take control again.Let us aspire to see sin as a chance to deal with our roots of unbelief.We got to apply  the Gospel truth  every time we are tempted to sin and reclaim our heart's land back in Christ.

I am reminded of an old hymn  "Lord Reign in Me " which is all about invoking the Almighty's reign and rule in our lives.The lyrics as follows 

Lord reign in me

Reign in your power

Over all my dreams

In my darkest hour

You are the Lord of all I am

So won't you reign in me again

Over every thought

Over every word

May my life reflect the beauty of my Lord

'Cause you mean more to me than any Earthly thing

So won't you reign in me again

Oh Lord reign in us. Have your way and take control over our land.

Our Ray Of Hope

Its been so long since I wrote my last post.I have been wanting to write but it was hard to save some time to sit down and pen down my thoughts.In this busy world we are all having some crisis in our daily lives. Debt,Sickness,Poor Finances,Lack of love, Guilt,..... I could go on and write down everything but that's not my point.Amidst all the weary situations we go through in our lives I want to encourage you saying that there is a ray of hope which is our Lord and savior Jesus Christ himself.

Jesus Christ is our ever constant Hope in this world.Our only rational expectation is from Him and Him alone.For Christ in us is our hope of glory.Without Christ in us we have no good or well grounded hope of glory.Christ in the Gospel, Christ on the cross, Christ risen, Christ in Heaven, all is hope, of an external type, to the believer; but Christ in us, Christ actually present, living, and reigning in us, as really as He lives and reigns in glory, is the only bedrock and only well-grounded Hope a real Christian has.

In Jesus Christ there is always hope for tomorrow and day after tomorrows and days to come.He is our peace, strength, trust,hope and future forever.

“My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him.
 He only is my rock and my salvation;  He is my defense; I shall not be moved.
In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength and my refuge is in God.Trust in Him at all times, you people;  pour out your heart before Him;
 God is a refuge for us." Psalm 62:5-8

The scriptures in the bible tells us that we are more than conquerors in Jesus Christ.He has not given us a life of failure but solid victory in every aspects of our life.It means we can conquer sin, sorrow,sickness, hopelessness, negativity etc through Christ living within us. Thats the life a christian should live.If your life is so devastated right now , never mind, hold on to Jesus. He will turn your mourning into dancing and lift your head up before your enemies. Thats the hope we have in Christ .

..in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." 

Romans 8:37-39

We have everlasting eternity and sufficiency in Jesus Christ.He is more than able to fulfill everything what concerns us today.I want to give you that little hope amidst your terrible, horrible whatever condition  that its doesnt matter. Jesus is our shelter in the time of storm.His promises and ways are higher than your thoughts.I pray that God will hold your hand and walk with you through the deepest waters and carry you safely to the harbor you belong to.Never fear, We serve a bigger greater mightier God who will never let us astray. 

"... as it is written: 'Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,  nor have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.' But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit." 1 Corinthians 2:9

New year with Christ

Tick Tock !! Tick Tock!!

It's twelve says the ticking clock

Old is gone and new blessings to come

For God is turning every emptiness wholesome

Instead of making a new resolution 

Why not we try committing to a biblical solution

Our promises and covenants are easily broken

Empty words, though earnestly spoken

But God's Word transforms the soul

By His Holy Spirit He will make us whole

As we spend quality time alone with Him

He will change  and mend us from within

Arise arise oh daughter of Zion

Behold the dawn of your freedom

For you have found favor in the Kings eyes

Press on and run towards the heavenly prize

It's an year of harvest and resurrection

Dead and dormant things are getting new dimension

With God all things are possible

Be ready for  brand new stuff  inconceivable and unimaginable.
